Information: Audra Wallace, Twin Oaks High School Counselor, returns to our district coming from Escondido Union School District where she was a Counselor implementing Learning and Life skills programs for youth. She worked for the district in the past as a counselor at Twin Oaks and at San Marcos High School with GEAR-UP.
As Counselor for Twin Oaks now, Mrs. Wallace works with our students to better prepare them for life after high school. She advises them academically and socially. Mrs. Wallace supports our Orientation Program by teaching the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens, Personal and Learning Styles awareness, Study Skills and Conflict Resolution techniques. Mrs. Wallace supports our students academically as she meets with those who are receiving two or more negative grades on progress reports and those who are credit deficient to create a plan for successfully graduating. She supports our teachers by conferencing with students referred for behavior and academic issues; and coordinates our Student Success Team meetings so that teachers can identify a positive plan for students who are struggling to succeed. Our Life skills groups—such as anger management, gang intervention, drug awareness, and self-esteem—are coordinated by Mrs. Wallace, as well.
